Recycling as a technology of the future

LANASIA

86 million tonnes of plastic float in our oceans - and only 8% of the world's existing plastic was recycled in 2020.

Plastic waste is considered the worst environmental problem of the 21st century. However, the enormously robust and resistant raw material also holds great potential for innovative recycling!

For every bikini and swimsuit, we are able to save up to 200 grams of ocean plastic from the sea, beaches and landfills and reintroduce it into the material cycle.

For us, recycling is an essential component for the future of slow fashion. Only if we are able to use existing resources and prevent the mining of new raw material, we have a chance to protect our planet from further pollution.

Thanks to your help we could already

recycle more than 1'160kg plastic out of the oceans.

...and that's how it works!

The BikiniARTmuseum in Bad Rappenau is unique in the world. In this special place, the entire historical and contemporary knowledge on the subject of swimwear and swimwear culture is exhibited. We are particularly proud that our fashion label LANASIA, as a pioneer of sustainable swimwear, has been given a permanent exhibition space in the BikiniARTmuseum since 01 July 2020.

Under the category woman - power & future, we showcase the manufacturing process of our sustainable fabrics - from recycled fabric to the finished designer bikini. We are very honoured to be part of the unique collection at the BikiniARTmuseum as pioneers of eco-friendly swimwear.

As a sister-founded and women-empowering fashion label, LANASIA champions equality and self-confidence for women of all backgrounds. Our motto "SEXY & SUSTAINABLE" is not only to emphasise how important it is to feel strong and beautiful in your own body. With our recycled swimwear, we are also sending a clear message that the future of swimwear must be environmentally friendly in order to rid the sensitive ocean ecosystem of plastic in the long term.
